De instapleeftijd binnen de ervaringscurve wordt vastgesteld op 18 jaar. Deze instapleeftijd wordt ingegeven door het feit dat dit de normale instapleeftijd is voor een groot aantal functies en dat voor de overige functies die hogere studies vereisen, doorgaans aangevat op die leeftijd, voorzien is dat deze studies gelijkgesteld worden als ervaring.
Werknemers die over onvoldoende ervaring beschikken, hetgeen te wijten kan zijn aan een onvoltooide opleiding en voornamelijk voorkomt in de categorieën 1 en 2, krijgen een loon dat overeenstemt met het gebrek aan ervaring -1 of -2.

Deze minima worden maandelijks betaald als voorschot op de commissies. De eindrekening wordt jaarlijks opgemaakt en mag niet lager zijn dan de wedde die een bediende van de hieronder bepaalde categorieën en ervaring had kunnen verdienen, rekening houdend met de toepassing van artikel 9 van de CAO van 22/06/2017 (140.607) bij de berekening van dit minimum.
Voor de vertegenwoordigers die "deeltijds" werkzaam zijn, en waarvan de wedde commissies omvat, die zijn vastgesteld overeenkomstig het bedrag van de handelsomzet of volgens andere maatstaven, worden de bepalingen hieronder pro rata de arbeidsduur toegepast.
