What does an employeereally cost you?

Three numbers. Most employers only know one. We show you all three, and everything in between.

Gross salary

€3.000

Net for employee

€2.280

Employer cost

€3.802

The employer cost

What actually hits the books

A gross salary of €3,000. What do you actually pay? What does your employee receive? And where does the difference go?

What you pay as employer

Gross salary€3.000
+ Employer NSSO (25%, less structural reduction)+€585
+ Meal vouchers (22 days x €8.91)+€196
+ Eco vouchers (€250/year spread)+€21
Total employer cost€3.802

Employer cost breakdown

What you need to know

Did you know that Jeroen's minimum wage rises every year with his professional experience? If you miss that step, an inspection will flag it as underpayment.

JC 200 has a pay scale per class (A to D) and per year of professional experience, from 0 to 26 years. Employers who do not track this systematically underpay. If Jeroen stays on the year 6 scale, he misses €60 a month. He can claim it back for up to 5 years, and the NSSO recovers the contributions on it for up to 3 years, with a surcharge and interest.

Flagging overpayment

Even if you pay too much

Underpayment is not the only risk. Incorrect job classifications or the wrong joint committee can also cause structural overpayment. We flag it.

Incorrect job classification

An employee designated as a decision-maker when the work is operational — the pay scale is then too high. The correct function classification within your joint committee determines the right scale.

Wrong joint committee

Applying JC 200 when JC 226 applies, or vice versa, creates a structural difference in minimum wages and contributions. The wrong JC leads to both over- and underpayment depending on the sector.

Seniority miscalculated

An employee moved to a higher pay scale too early because seniority from a previous role or employer was incorrectly counted. We recalculate the correct seniority accrual.
