Payroll for restaurants: an advisory meeting with an employer at Business Centrum in Ghent

For cafés, restaurants and hotels

Payroll for restaurants: we run your wages, Dimonas and flexi-jobs

In hospitality the team changes every week: permanent staff, flexi-jobbers, casual workers and students, each with their own Dimona and contributions. Business Centrum takes that payroll off your hands, from the Dimona for every shift to the payslip. You stay the employer and keep your hands free for the business.

What restaurant payroll involves

Every status under JC 302 has its own rules:

  1. Flexi-jobs

At least € 12.11 an hour, plus 7.67% flexi holiday pay and a 28% special contribution for you. The flexi-jobber worked at least 80% of a full-time job elsewhere 3 quarters earlier, or is retired.

  2. Casual workers and the Dimona per shift

A casual worker (extra) works at most 2 consecutive days for you and 50 days a year. Every shift needs a Dimona EXT, with start and end time or as a day block. Shift running late? Report the end time within 8 hours after the planned end.

  3. Students

650 hours a year with reduced solidarity contributions: 5.42% for you, 2.71% for the student. Here too, the Dimona comes first.

  4. Permanent staff

At least the JC 302 pay scale, indexed by 2.189% on 1 January 2026. More than € 25,000 a year from meals, excluding VAT? Then you work with a registered cash system.

What Business Centrum takes over for your restaurant

Behind the bar there is no time for returns. This is what we take over:

  • Every Dimona before the shift starts, for every status
  • The right status per worker, with the lower contributions where allowed
  • Framework agreements for flexi-jobbers and student contracts
  • Wages under the JC 302 pay scale, with indexation and premiums
  • The counters for casual workers and students
  • The quarterly return and NSSO contributions, via Acerta
  • What extra staff will cost, before you schedule them

What is left for you

You pass on the schedule and the hours worked. We call you if something is not right.

Business Centrum is a payroll and HR office and your fixed contact in Ghent. Returns to the NSSO go through Acerta, a recognised social secretariat.

How payroll costs are built up

A payroll price usually has these parts:

Business Centrum does not publish rates: you get a quote after a free consultation. More on prices in what a social secretariat costs.

  1. Set-up

A one-off amount to create or take over your file.

  2. Fixed monthly price

A file fee, often with an amount per employee on top.

  3. Per payslip or shift

In hospitality this weighs heavily: many short shifts mean many Dimonas and pay calculations.

  4. Billed separately

Work rules, advice or a switch of provider are sometimes billed on their own.

How Business Centrum takes over your payroll

  1. Get acquainted

A free consultation: how many people, which statuses, how do you schedule now?

  2. Start

We set up your file with Acerta and agree how you pass on hours. We also handle the switch.

  3. Every week

You schedule, we do the Dimonas and the wages. Your team gets paid on time.

Payroll for restaurants: frequently asked questions

How much does payroll cost for a restaurant?

That depends on the number of staff, their statuses and the number of shifts per month. Business Centrum does not publish rates: you get a quote after a free consultation about your business.

What is the difference between payroll and payrolling?

With payroll you stay the employer and outsource the administration, as with Business Centrum. With payrolling a temp agency becomes your worker's employer and invoices you per hour worked.

Do I need a Dimona for every shift?

For a casual worker, yes: a Dimona EXT per day, before the shift starts. For a flexi-jobber you file a Dimona FLX and record the hours, through your till, a time registration or a daily Dimona with start and end time.
