A Securex alternative is any of the other 25 recognised social secretariats, or a social bureau that works with one of them. Through Business Centrum in Ghent you move to Acerta, with one fixed contact who does the work for you. Your other Securex services, such as prevention, you can keep or end separately.
Securex in brief
Securex is recognised as a social secretariat under number 120. It is a group offering many services under one name. According to Securex's own website, consulted on 7 October 2026:
- 91,500 employers rely on the group, which is active in 5 countries;
- customer care can be reached on working days from 8 to 18 hours;
- the price consists of a start-up fee and a fixed monthly management fee, with a tailored quotation;
- you work with Exact Officient and a Self Service app for your employees, and with MySecurex;
- the group also provides an external prevention service, a social insurance fund and a business one-stop shop.
Securex also has an office in Ghent. If you want many services with one group, you will find a broad package there. These figures come from Securex itself and no authority has checked them.
Why does an SME look for a Securex alternative?
An SME usually does not look for another secretariat because the current one gets something wrong. It looks for a different way of working. Typical reasons:
- You want a person, not a helpdesk. Customer care with long hours is useful. One fixed person who knows your file and also carries out the work is something else.
- You no longer want to do the work yourself. In a payroll tool you keep entering hours and following up changes.
- You want someone nearby. An office in Ghent, where you can drop in with a contract or a letter from the NSSO.
- Your contract is coming to an end. A good moment to look again at the way of working and the price.
- You want overview. Many services with one group is convenient, but it also means many contracts and points of contact.
So you choose a Securex alternative not by name, but by who does the work and whom you call when something changes, with a price for your actual staff next to it.

The statutory core stays the same. The Dimona, the DmfA, the collection of contributions and the social documents go through a recognised secretariat under NSSO supervision in both cases. What differs is the middle row: whom you turn to and who does the work. How a social bureau works alongside a secretariat is explained in our guide social bureau.
What happens to your other Securex services?
If you are with Securex, you often have more than the social secretariat. Changing secretariat does not automatically affect those other contracts.
External prevention service. The contract with an external service is a separate open-ended agreement. To end it, you give at least 6 months' notice, starting on the first day of the month after the notice. So you can keep your external service, even if you change social secretariat. What such a service does is explained in our guide on the external prevention service.
Social insurance fund. Your own status as a self-employed person or company director runs through a social insurance fund. That is separate from the payroll administration of your employees.
Business one-stop shop. You register or change details in the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises at the one-stop shop of your choice. That does not depend on your social secretariat either.
Before you give notice, list all your contracts with Securex, each with its own notice period. Then you know exactly what you take along, what you keep and what you stop. In the introductory meeting we draw up that list with you, so that no contract runs on by mistake or stops too early.
What do your employees notice of the switch?
For your employees little changes. You remain their employer, so their contract, their pay and their seniority stay as they are. What changes is the sender of their payslip and of the documents they receive from the secretariat.
Three things make the switch smooth for your team:
- Tell them shortly in advance. Say from which month the payslip comes from Acerta and whom they can ask questions.
- Have the leave balances carried over. Holidays, compensatory rest and other balances must pass over correctly, so nobody loses days.
- Plan on a quarter boundary. A switch on 1 January keeps everything per calendar year, including the tax form and the individual account.
At Business Centrum we make sure the transfer of balances and data is correct, and we help answer your employees' first questions.
Switching from Securex: step by step
- Read your contract. Look for the notice period, the date by which you can give notice, the form of notice and fees for the transfer or an early exit.
- Choose the start of a quarter. A mandate with the NSSO only passes over on 1 January, 1 April, 1 July or 1 October. The turn of the year is often simplest, because the individual account runs per calendar year.
- Give notice as the contract requires. Usually that is a registered letter.
- Have the new mandate registered. That happens in Mahis, the NSSO application, and can still be done for that quarter up to 1 month after it starts.
- Agree on the last DmfA. Usually Securex still files the DmfA for its last quarter, within 1 month after that quarter.
- Have the file transferred. Staff data, contracts, leave balances and the individual account.
Through Business Centrum we take care of it: we contact Securex and organise the transfer. You sign a single mandate. All deadlines are in changing social secretariat.
What Business Centrum does for you
At Business Centrum you send the hours and we do the rest:
- Your payroll, every month. You send the hours, overtime and absences. We process them and call you if something does not add up.
- Dimona on time, for permanent staff, students and flexi-jobbers.
- Contracts and documents, from the employment contract to the documents when someone leaves.
- Your sector, with hours and pay according to your joint committee.
- One fixed person who knows your file, whom you call or email directly, in Ghent.
Acerta is behind it as the social secretariat, files the returns and collects the contributions. How those tasks are divided is set out in Acerta or Business Centrum.
Other Securex alternatives
There are more routes. The official list of 20 June 2025 counts 25 recognised social secretariats with an active head office, and each files the same statutory returns.
- Acerta directly, if you want to work in a portal yourself.
- SD Worx, Liantis or Partena, each with its own pricing model and tools. See Acerta, SD Worx, Securex, Liantis or Partena: the differences.
- A smaller secretariat in your region or sector, from the list in the largest social secretariats in Belgium.
Still weighing several names? Also read an alternative to SD Worx, Liantis or Partena.
