The end-of-year bonus in JC 332 varies by subsector. The Joint Committee for the French- and German-speaking welfare and health sector brings together services recognised and subsidised by different authorities, and each group has its own CLA. Most Walloon services pay a fixed part plus 2.50% of twelve times the October scale salary, Brussels outpatient services three fixed amounts plus the same percentage. For 2025 an exceptional amount of € 2,092.20 was added in Brussels.
Which end-of-year bonus JC 332 scheme applies to you?
| Your service | Scheme | CLA |
|---|---|---|
| Walloon services: home care coordination, social work, social integration, debt mediation, health promotion, addiction care and others | Fixed part plus 2.50% | 173460 of 25 February 2022 |
| Walloon helplines and family planning centres | Higher fixed part plus 2.50% | 173460 of 25 February 2022 |
| Walloon mental health services | Two fixed parts plus two variable parts | 173460 of 25 February 2022 |
| Brussels outpatient services recognised and subsidised by the Cocof | Three fixed amounts plus 2.50% | 156008 of 29 November 2019 |
| Early childhood settings of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation | 1988 allowance, for 2025 an exceptional premium | 196985 of 12 December 2025 |
| Promotion de la Santé à l'École (PSE) | Indexed fixed amount plus 2.50% | 109272 of 7 March 2012 |
| SOS-Enfants teams | Indexed fixed amount plus 2.50% | 133008 of 18 March 2016 |
For the German-speaking Community and for services without a specific CLA we found no separate sector end-of-year bonus in the CLA database; look at the company CLA or the employment contract there. If you are unsure whether your service falls under JC 332, rather than JC 330 for care institutions or JC 319.02 for education and housing services, first read finding your joint committee.
Three questions to find the right scheme
- Who subsidises your service? The Walloon Region (AViQ or SPW), the Cocof, the Wallonia-Brussels Federation or the German-speaking Community. That determines the CLA, not just the address of your office.
- What is your activity? In Wallonia, helplines and family planning pay a higher fixed part, and mental health has its own formula with two variable parts.
- Do your employees already receive a bonus? If it is at least equivalent, it stays and you do not pay the sector bonus twice. If it is lower, the sector bonus applies.
If you run services in more than one region, apply each service's own scheme. A non-profit with a Brussels and a Walloon site therefore calculates two different bonuses, each with its own fixed amounts.
End-of-year bonus JC 332 in Walloon services
Since 2022 the CLA of 25 February 2022 has harmonised the bonuses of the Walloon subsectors. Most services pay the same:
| Part | Amount | How it changes |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed part | € 853.22 (2022) | Every year with the smoothed health index for October |
| Fixed part for helplines and family planning | € 886.28 (2022) | Same |
| Variable part | 2.50% of 12 x the indexed October scale salary | Follows the pay scale |
Indexation. The previous year's fixed part is multiplied by the smoothed health index for October divided by that of the previous October, to four decimals, and the result is rounded to two decimals. The starting point is the October 2021 index, 110.53 points. The amounts in the table are therefore the 2022 ones, not the 2026 ones.
The variable part is based on the scale salary, not actual pay: twelve times the indexed gross scale salary for October, excluding all other bonuses, supplements or allowances.
Mental health services have a broader bonus, partly from the Walloon code on social action and health:
| Part | Amount (2022) |
|---|---|
| First fixed part | € 486.87 |
| Second fixed part | € 780.13 |
| First variable part | 2.50% of 12 x the October scale salary |
| Second variable part | 7% of the October monthly salary, at least € 179.27 and at most € 358.53 |
The amounts from the Walloon non-profit agreement 2021-2024 are paid provided the government has arranged funding through the AViQ and the SPW Intérieur et Action sociale. Employees who already receive an at least equivalent bonus are not covered by the CLA.
Worked example: end-of-year bonus in a Walloon service
A social worker or graduate nurse in function 1/55-1/61-1/77 with three years' seniority earns at least € 3,503.56 a month in Walloon services. The full scales are on the JC 332 pay scale for Walloon institutions.
- Twelve times the October scale salary: € 3,503.56 x 12 = € 42,042.72.
- Variable part: € 42,042.72 x 2.50% = € 1,051.07.
- Fixed part: € 853.22 in 2022, indexed to 2026.
- Bonus: € 1,051.07 plus the indexed fixed part, gross.
If the same employee started on 10 April, April counts because the start was before the 16th: six of nine months. The variable part is then € 700.71, and the fixed part also goes to six ninths. In a mental health service, a second variable part of 7% of the October monthly salary is added: € 245.25. The general calculation and deductions are in calculating the end-of-year bonus.
End-of-year bonus JC 332 in the Brussels outpatient sector
For outpatient services recognised and subsidised by the French Community Commission, such as general welfare centres, family planning, home care coordination, mental health, telephone helplines and addiction services, the CLA of 29 November 2019 applies:
| Part | Amount | Indexation |
|---|---|---|
| First fixed amount | Calculated under the 1979 rules for federal civil servants | Smoothed health index for October, to four decimals |
| Second fixed amount | € 340 in 2019 | Same, since 2020 |
| Non-indexed part | € 161.40 | None |
| Variable part | 2.50% of 12 x the October scale salary, including household or residence allowance | Follows the pay scale |
Worked example Brussels. A master's graduate without seniority earns at least € 3,999.41 a month, household or residence allowance included. The variable part is € 1,199.82, with the non-indexed part € 1,361.22. The two indexed fixed amounts come on top. The scales are on the JC 332 Cocof pay scale.
The exceptional amount. For 2025 the CLA of 12 December 2025 (no. 196964/CO/332) granted an exceptional amount of € 2,092.20 on top of the year-end allowance. Such amounts follow from the Cocof budget each year; the Cocof services of JC 319.02 received a similar amount, see the end-of-year bonus JC 319.02.
Application of the Brussels CLA depends on the funding the Cocof promised in the protocol of 18 July 2018. Employees with an at least equivalent bonus do not receive the indexed amounts and the variable part a second time.
Childcare, PSE and SOS-Enfants
Childcare. Staff of the early childhood settings of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation receive a year-end allowance under a CLA of 19 September 1988. For 2025, childcare staff also received an exceptional premium of € 540 gross for a full-time employee all year. Conditions: still under contract in December 2025 and employed for at least 13 weeks in 2025, with a pro rata per twelfth. If you work in childcare, also see how we set up a social secretariat for childcare.
PSE. School health promotion services pay an indexed fixed amount, € 349.76 in 2011, plus 2.50% of gross annual pay. The fixed amount follows the October consumer price index.
SOS-Enfants. SOS-Enfants teams pay a fixed amount of € 363.72 in 2015, indexed every year since with the smoothed health index for October, plus 2.50% of the gross annual pay for October.
Reference period and pro rata in JC 332
Under the Walloon, Brussels and SOS-Enfants schemes the reference period runs from 1 January to 30 September:
| Situation | What applies |
|---|---|
| Full year full time | The full bonus |
| Starting or leaving during the reference period | One ninth per month worked or treated as worked |
| Start before the 16th of the month | That month counts in full |
| Part time | In proportion to hours in the reference period |
| Periods treated as worked | Those of the annual leave legislation |
What this means for a part-time contract is in our guide to the part-time employment contract. Illness within the limits of the leave legislation counts; long absences beyond it do not. For time credit see time credit for employers.
End-of-year bonus JC 332 on dismissal or leaving
If an employee leaves during the year, you pay the bonus in the month of leaving, pro rata to the months in the reference period. On dismissal for serious misconduct there is no bonus; see dismissal for serious misconduct. In the Brussels outpatient sector and at SOS-Enfants there is also no bonus for work under a student contract. The amount belongs in the final settlement and on the social documents on dismissal, together with the leaving holiday pay from our guide to holiday pay in 2026.
When and how do you pay the end-of-year bonus in JC 332?
You pay the bonus yourself, in one payment during December. The fixed parts depend on the smoothed health index for October, which is only known at the end of October. Pay in the Walloon and Brussels subsectors was indexed in January 2026; the general state is in wage indexation in 2026. An overview of every committee is in the end-of-year bonus in 2026.
Common mistakes with the end-of-year bonus JC 332
- Choosing the wrong CLA. The subsidising authority and the subsector determine the scheme.
- Using the 2022 amounts. The fixed part is indexed every year.
- Calculating the variable part on actual pay. It is twelve times the October scale salary.
- Forgetting the household or residence allowance in Brussels. It is part of the variable part's base.
- Counting a start on the 15th as half a month. Before the 16th it counts as a full month.
- Forgetting the exceptional 2025 amount. In Brussels it came on top of the year-end allowance.
